Blog - The Parable of the Wine Bottles

The following blog is over 14 years old at the time of this post. I wrote it on September 23, 2005 in Mosul, Iraq five months after I was baptized. I have left it unchanged. I hope you enjoy it. - Pastor Wagner The Parable of the Wine Bottles "37) And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. 38) But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. 39) No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better." Luke 5:37-39

Blog - The 70 Weeks Prophecy (Dan 9:24-27)

The 70 Weeks Prophecy (Dan 9:24-27) I was asked today when the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy took place. I have briefly covered the 70 weeks prophecy in sermons before, but I have not yet preached a thorough sermon series on the topic, so hopefully this blog will fill the void until that time. The 70th week of Daniel's prophecy (Dan 9:24-27) began when Christ was baptized and entered into His public ministry, and it officially ended seven years later.

Blog - The Different Genealogies of Jesus Christ in Matthew and Luke

The Different Genealogies of Jesus Christ in Matthew and Luke Why is the genealogy of Jesus Christ very different in Matthew 1 and Luke 3, particularly after David? This blog will answer this question which is common among Bible believers and is also a common objection to the inerrancy of the scriptures by unbelievers.

Blog - The Last Shall Be First

"But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first." (Mat 19:30) I was asked by my lovely wife this morning what is meant by "the first shall be last; and the last shall be first." As I pondered it and searched the scriptures, I found that the Lord Jesus Christ used this phrase, or a variation of it, on a few occasions referring to different things.

Blog - Christmas on Mount Sinai

Today, December 25th, 2017, either by divine providence or coincidence, my daily Bible reading brought me to Exodus 32 which is the account of Israel worshipping the golden calf that spontaneously generated in the fire from some earrings that Aaron threw into it. At least that was his story (Exo 32:24). Aaron's cockamamie recollection of the origin of the idol he made is pure bovine manure to any Bible believing Christian, but would easily pass a stringent peer review process for any leading evolutionary scientific journal. But even more ridiculous than Aaron's fabricated tale are professing Christians who would be aghast at the idea of worshipping a golden calf, while doing essentially the same thing in their homes this morning.
