Christian Identity Refutation (Part 1) I. The following quotes are from the Wikipedia article on Christian Identity. 1. “Christian Identity (also known as Identity Christianity) is an interpretation of Christianity which advocates the belief that only Celtic and Germanic peoples, such as the Anglo- Saxon, Nordic nations, or the Aryan race and kindred peoples, are the descendants of the ancient Israelites and are therefore God's "chosen people". It is a racial interpretation of Christianity and is not an organized religion, nor is it affiliated with specific Christian denominations. It emerged from British Israelism in the 1920s and developed during the 1940s–1970s. Today it is practiced by independent individuals, independent congregations, and some prison gangs. “No single document expresses the Christian Identity belief system, and some beliefs may vary by group. However, all Identity adherents believe that Adam and his offspring were exclusively White. They also believe in Two House theology, which makes a distinction between the Tribe of Judah and the Ten Lost Tribes, and that ultimately, European people represent the Ten Lost Tribes. This racialist view advocates racial segregation and opposes interracial marriage. Other commonly held beliefs are that usury and banking systems are controlled by Jews, leading to opposition to the Federal Reserve System and use of fiat currency, believing it to be part of "the beast" system. Christian Identity's eschatology is millennialist.” (Christian Identity, Wikipedia, 8-11-2026) 2. “The Christian Identity movement emerged in the United States in the 1920s and 1930s as an offshoot of British Israelism. Early British Israelites such as Edward Hine and John Wilson were philosemites. The typical form of the British Israelite belief held that modern- day Jews were descended from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, while the British and other related Northern European peoples were descended from the other ten tribes. Christian Identity emerged in sharp contrast to British Israelism as a strongly antisemitic theology, and by the 1940s to 1970s, it was teaching that contemporary Jews were either descendants of Eurasian Khazars or literal descendants of Satan.” (Ibid) 3. “Christian Identity theology promotes a racialist interpretation of Christianity.” (Ibid) II. Basic tenets of the Christian Identity doctrine (from the Wikipedia article). Note: not all adherents of Christian Identity hold to all of these beliefs. 1. Adam and Eve were preceded by lesser, non-Caucasian races which are often (although not always) identified as "beasts of the field" (Genesis 1:25, Genesis 2:19–20) who took human form as a result of mating with Adamites. 2. The pre-Adamite races such as blacks did not have souls and that race mixing was an insult to God because it spoiled his racial plan of creation. 3. Nonwhites were tainted through race-mixing. 4. Two-seedism A. The serpent in the story of the Fall was not a reptile, but the Devil himself. B. The seedline of Cain came through a union of Satan (the serpent) and Eve. Eve was seduced by the Serpent (Satan), shared her fallen state with Adam by having sex with him, and gave birth to twins with different fathers: Satan's son Cain and Adam's son Abel. C. The Jews were descended from Cain’s unholy line through mating with members of the non-Adamic races and thus had a natural propensity for evil. D. The Jews are literally the offspring of Satan. E. The Jews are descended from Esau or the Canaanites rather than the tribe of Judah. F. Europeans are the chosen people and Jews are the cursed offspring of Cain, the serpent seed. 5. White supremacy A. The Hebrew etymology of the word "Adam" (Aw-Dam) translates as "to show blood in the face, flush or turn rosey. Be dyed, made red (ruddy)", often quoting from James Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, and concluding that that proves Adam as the ancestor of the Caucasian race. B. Adam and Eve were only the ancestors of white people who are the chosen. C. Non-Caucasian peoples have no souls and therefore they can never earn God's favor or be saved. 6. Two House theology A. The northern tribes of Israel were carried off by the Assyrians and remained racially pure as they migrated into modern Europe, while the southern kingdom eventually became allied with Satan. B. The early European tribes were really the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel and therefore the rightful heirs to God's promises, and God's chosen people. C. After the northern Kingdom of Israel was conquered by Assyria in 721 BC, the ten tribes disappeared from the Biblical record. D. White people of Europe in particular, or Caucasians in general, are God's servant people, according to the promises that were given to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. E. Celtic and Germanic peoples, such as the Anglo-Saxon, Nordic nations, or the Aryan race and kindred peoples are the true Israelites, and modern Jews have dispossessed them of their identity as God's chosen race. F. Anglo-Saxons (whites) are the true Israelites, God's chosen people who were given the divine right to rule the world until the Second Coming of Christ. G. There will be an imminent, apocalyptic struggle between good and evil, with the whites against the Jews. 7. America is the Zion of Bible prophecy and will be the seat of Christ's earthly, millennial kingdom. 8. All of history represents a great cosmic war between the forces of good and evil. It is all part of a Satanic plot to take control of creation. 9. Most CI adherents are white nationalists who advocate racial segregation and the imposition of anti-miscegenation laws. 10. Christian Identitarians advocate the introduction of a state of racial purity in the US. III. Refutation of the tenets of Christian Identity 1. CI Tenet #1: Adam and Eve were preceded by lesser, non-Caucasian races which are often (although not always) identified as "beasts of the field" (Genesis 1:25, Genesis 2:19–20) who took human form as a result of mating with Adamites. A. This is such a stupid idea that it needs no refutation. i. The beasts of the field are animals which are mentioned with other animals such as cattle, creeping things, and birds (Gen 1:24-25; Gen 2:19-20). ii. Beast n. – 1. A living being, an animal. (Used to translate Gr. fóom, or L. animal, esp. in versions of the Bible. Now restricted in literary use as in sense 2; but still widely applied in dialect and colloquial use, including e.g. newts, insects, centipedes.) 2. a. A quadruped (or animal popularly regarded as such), as distinguished from birds, reptiles, fishes, insects, etc., as well as from man. (Now the ordinary literary use.) 3. A domesticated animal owned and used by man, as part of his farm ‘stock’ or cattle [F. bestiaux, bétail]; at first including sheep, goats, etc., but a. gradually more or less restricted to the bovine kind; and now chiefly applied by farmers, graziers, etc. to fatting cattle. (In this sense there is also a collective plural beast.) B. Another absurd claim along these lines is that the unclean beasts that Noah took on the ark (Gen 7:2) were non-Caucasians, which supposedly explains the existence of Africans and Indians on earth today. i. This claim is stupid, nonsensical, and unbiblical for a number of reasons. a. Beasts are animals (see definition above). b. The beasts are identified as cattle and creeping things (Gen 6:19-20; Gen 7:14-15; Gen 9:9-10). c. The clean and the unclean that Noah took on the ark were both referred to as beasts (Gen 7:2); therefore, if the unclean beasts were non-Caucasians, then the clean beasts must have been some other type of not-fully-human beings as well. d. The Bible later identifies beasts (animals) that were clean and unclean that could be used for food and sacrifices by the children of Israel (Lev 11:46-47). e. The reason for taking seven pairs of clean beasts and only one pair of unclean beasts on the ark was so that Noah could sacrifice some of the clean beasts after exiting the ark (Gen 8:20). f. There were only eight human beings (souls, people) on the ark (1Pe 3:20; 2Pe 2:5), and those eight people were Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their three wives (Gen 6:18; Gen 7:7, 13). ii. This is one of many examples of wresting plain texts of scripture by giving absurd, figurative meanings to passages that are obviously meant to be taken literally in an attempt to support an unbiblical idea. C. The Bible says nothing about pre-Adamite races. D. God created man (mankind – men and women), not just Caucasian people, in His own image (Gen 1:27 c/w Act 17:26). 2. CI Tenet #2: The pre-Adamite races such as blacks did not have souls and race mixing was an insult to God because it spoiled his racial plan of creation. A. There are no pre-Adamite races. i. All men inherited sin and death from Adam (Rom 5:12; 1Co 15:22) because they were made in his image (Gen 5:3; 1Co 15:47-49). ii. Pre-Adamite races would not have inherited Adam’s sin. iii. Since all mankind are represented in Adam, there are no pre-Adamite races. B. All nations are made of one blood (Act 17:26). i. There are no “races” of people. ii. There is one race, Adam’s race. C. Every human being has a soul. i. God made Adam a living soul (Gen 2:7). ii. All people are descended from Adam and therefore have a soul.
