Abortion and Gay Marriage - The Judgment of God

I. A misunderstanding of the judgment of God.
1. Christians often say that God will judge our country for allowing abortion and gay marriage.
2. The truth is that God has judged our country by allowing abortion and gay marriage.
II. An effective method of deception is to use euphemisms.
1. "When words lose their meaning, people lose their freedom." - Confucius
2. Abortion and gay marriage are both euphemisms.
3. Euphemism n. - 1. Rhet. That figure of speech which consists in the substitution of a word or expression of comparatively favourable implication or less unpleasant associations, instead of the harsher or more offensive one that would more precisely designate what is intended.
4. Abortion is a euphemism for premeditated murder or infanticide.
A. Abortion n. - 1. The act of giving untimely birth to offspring, premature delivery, miscarriage; the procuring of premature delivery so as to destroy offspring. (In Med. abortion is limited to a delivery so premature that the offspring cannot live, i.e. in the case of the human fetus before the sixth month.)
B. Murder n. - 1. a. The most heinous kind of criminal homicide; also, an instance of this. In English (also Sc. and U.S.) Law, defined as the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought; often more explicitly willful murder.
C. Infanticide n. - The killing of infants, esp. the custom of killing new-born infants, which prevailed in primitive societies, and was common in the ancient world. b. spec. The crime of murdering an infant after its birth, perpetrated by or with the consent of its parents, esp. the mother.
D. Infant n. - 1. a. A child during the earliest period of life (or still unborn); now most usually applied to a child in arms, a babe; but often extended to include any child under seven years of age
5. Gay marriage is a euphemism for homosexuality which is a euphemism for sodomy.
A. Gay adj. - 1. a. Of persons, their attributes and actions: Full of or disposed to joy and mirth; manifesting or characterized by joyous mirth; light-hearted, exuberantly cheerful, sportive, merry.
B. Homosexual n. - A. adj. Involving, related to, or characterized by a sexual propensity for one's own sex; of or involving sexual activity with a member of one's own sex, or between individuals of the same sex.
C. Sodomy n. - 1. An unnatural form of sexual intercourse, esp. that of one male with another.
D. Sodomite n. - 1. Sodomy. 2. One who practices or commits sodomy.
i. The KJV calls homosexuals sodomites (Deu 23:17; 1Ki 14:24; 1Ki 15:12; 1Ki 22:46; 2Ki 23:7).
ii. The modern Bible perversions such as the NIV and the ESV have removed all references to the word sodomite(s) and replaced it with "shrine prostitute", "cult prostitute", "male shire prostitutes", "male cult prostitutes", etc.
E. Queer n. - 1. a. Strange, odd, peculiar, eccentric, in appearance or character. Also, of questionable character, suspicious, dubious. queer fellow, an eccentric person; b. Of a person (usu. a man): homosexual. Also in phr. as queer as a coot (cf. coot n.1 2b). Hence, of things: pertaining to homosexuals or homosexuality. orig. U.S.
F. Similar to using euphemisms, sodomites use the symbol of a rainbow to represent their wicked and abhorrent sinful lifestyle.
i. The rainbow is a reminder that God will not again destroy the earth with a flood (Gen 9:11-17).
ii. If sodomites think that using the symbol of the rainbow is going to save them from the judgment of God, they're wrong (Rom 1:32).
6. God despises calling good evil and evil good (Isa 5:20).
A. Israel did this when the referred to Egypt by the terms God used for the promised land (Num 16:13 c/w Exo 3:8).
B. The leaders of Israel were rebuked by God for hating the good and loving the evil (Mic 3:1-2).
C. When Christians say that sodomites are good in the sight of God and that He delights in them, they are wearying Him (Mal 2:17).
D. We know we are living in a wicked society when the vilest men are exalted (Psa 12:8; Pro 28:4).
E. People deserve to be cursed and abhorred when they call the wicked righteous (Pro 24:24).
III. Abortion is mass murder.
1. Human life begins at the point of conception (Isa 7:14 c/w Mat 1:23).
2. God forms a person, not tissue, a zygote, or an embryo in the womb (Jer 1:5).
3. When an abortion takes place, a person dies in the womb (Jer 20:17).
4. Under the law of Moses, if two men were fighting and a pregnant woman was injured and lost her baby, the man was punished (Exo 21:22), and even executed in some cases (Exo 21:23).
5. Therefore, because life begins at conception, an intentional abortion is premeditated murder.
A. Murder n. - 1. a. The most heinous kind of criminal homicide; also, an instance of this. In English (also Sc. and U.S.) Law, defined as the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought; often more explicitly willful murder.
B. Legalized abortion is our national holocaust.
C. "In 2011, approximately 1.06 million abortions took place in the U.S., down from an estimated 1.21 million abortions in 2008, 1.29 million in 2002, 1.31 million in 2000 and 1.36 million in 1996. From 1973 through 2011, nearly 53 million legal abortions occurred in the U.S. (AGI)." (US Abortion Statistics, www.Abort73.com)
6. When governments want their subjects to kill their enemies in war, the "enemy" must first be dehumanized by calling them names such as krauts, gooks, hajis, terrorists, insurgents, etc.
7. The same tactic is used to get people to murder their babies by calling them zygotes, embryos, or tissue.
8. Women who get abortions are like stupid ostriches which are hardened against their babies (Lam 4:3 c/w Job 39:13-17).
A. Notice that the eggs yet unhatched are called young ones (Job 39:16).
B. This is called being without natural affection (Rom 1:31).
C. We live in an evil time when "death shall be chosen rather than life" (Jer 8:3).
D. "On average, women give at least 3 reasons for choosing abortion: 3/4 say that having a baby would interfere with work, school or other responsibilities; about 3/4 say they cannot afford a child; and 1/2 say they do not want to be a single parent or are having problems with their husband or partner (AGI)." (US Abortion Statistics, www.Abort73.com)
E. The majority of women who get abortions are "Christian".
F. "37% of women obtaining abortions identify themselves as Protestant, and 28% identify themselves as Catholic (AGI)." (US Abortion Statistics, www.Abort73.com)
9. If you have had an abortion, then confess your sin to God and ask for His forgiveness (1Jo 1:9), and go and sin no more.
IV. Sodomy is an unnatural abomination.
1. Sodomy goes against nature and is therefore a sin against God's written law and natural law (Rom 1:26-27).
2. God says that sodomy is an abomination worthy of death (Lev 18:22; Lev 20:13; Rom 1:32).
A. Abomination n. - 1. The feeling or state of mind of combined disgust and hatred; abhorrence, detestation, loathing. b. Physical disgust, nausea.
B. Is that how you feel about it? You should.
3. The death that "abusers of themselves with mankind" and "them that defile themselves with mankind" (sodomites) receive in the New Testament is exclusion from the kingdom of God (the local church) (1Co 6:9-10; 1Ti 1:10 c/w Lev 18:22; Lev 20:13).
V. Sodomy is a direct result of rejecting God.
1. The pattern of the fall of a society is given in Rom 1:20-31.
2. It begins with rejecting the knowledge of God available to all through the creation, and consequently becoming atheistic fools (Rom 1:20-22).
3. It next moves to changing the glory of God into an image of men and animals (evolution) (Rom 1:23).
4. For this God gives people over to fornication (sexual revolution) (Rom 1:24).
5. Next men begin worshipping the creature more than the Creator (humanism, environmentalism) (Rom 1:25).
6. For this, God gives them over to sodomy ("gay" marriage, "gay" rights) (Rom 1:26-27).
7. Finally, God gives them over to a reprobate mind to work all manner of sin (Rom 1:28-31).
8. We are in the final phase.
9. It will probably not stop with gay marriage: pedophilia, polygamy, and bestiality will likely follow.
VI. God judges people by giving them over to their own evil desires.
1. God cries out to His people and calls them to turn from their sins (Pro 1:20-23).
2. When they reject Him for long enough, He judges them by making them "eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices" (Pro 1:24-31).
A. This is exactly what has happened to our country.
B. We turned our back on God for years and now we are being judged by killing our babies and having our society and airwaves filled with flaming sodomites.
3. When God's children turn from God, He gives them up to their own lusts and ideas (Psa 81:11-12).
4. You reap what you sow (Job 4:8; Pro 22:8; Gal 6:7; Hos 8:7; Hos 10:12-13).
A. The wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23).
B. All those who hate God's wisdom love death (Pro 8:36).
C. Those who sow sin will reap death.
D. This country has rejected God and His wisdom and therefore reaps the death of its unborn children by abortion, and the death of sodomites and fornicators through STDs.
5. God uses peoples' own wickedness to chasten them (Jer 2:19; Jer 14:16).
6. God brings evil on people who have rejected His word by giving them the fruit of their thoughts (Jer 6:19).
7. When God's children are not content with what they have and lust after what they don't need, God will give it to them in abundance as a judgment against them (Num 11:20; Psa 78:29-31; Psa 106:14-15).
8. One of God's signature judgments is letting the wicked get snared by their own wicked works (Psa 9:15-16).
9. "A backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways" (Pro 14:14).
10. "Pride goeth before destruction" (Pro 16:18) -- it is no surprise that we hear so much about "gay pride" today.
11. Therefore, abortion and sodomy are the judgment of God on a wicked country.
12. The curses of Deu 28 come next: you better get serious about being in the house of God where His protection is.
VII. What should our stance be on "gay marriage"?
1. We should oppose it morally because it is evil.
A. God ordained marriage as the union of a man and woman (Gen 2:18-24; Mat 19:4-6).
B. Sex is the act of marriage and sex in a "gay" marriage is sodomy which is sin (Rom 1:26-27; Lev 18:22).
C. For these two reasons "gay" marriage is an abomination.
D. God judges not only them which do such things, but also them that have pleasure in them that do them (Rom 1:32).
2. We should oppose it politically because God's law trumps man's ideas.
A. Ideologies and political philosophies must be subordinate to the word of God.
i. Modern liberalism and libertarianism both generally support "gay" marriage under the rhetoric of "marriage equality" and "gay rights".
ii. They both advocate that the government should not prohibit members of the same sex from marrying each other.
iii. They both say that people should have the freedom to marry whom they will.
a. They're right -- sodomites have the same rights as everyone else: male sodomites can marry a woman and female sodomites can marry a man.
b. Marriage cannot be redefined by governments; God defines marriage.
(i) Marriage - 1. a. The condition of being a husband or wife; the relation between married persons; spousehood, wedlock.
(ii) Husband n. - 1. The master of a house, the male head of a household. 2. a. A man joined to a woman by marriage. Correlative of wife.
(iii) Wife n. - 1. a. A woman...2. a. A woman joined to a man by marriage; a married woman. Correlative of husband n. 2. (The ordinary current sense.)
c. Therefore to call anything "marriage" beside the lifelong union of a man and a woman is a contradiction of terms.
d. "Gay marriage" is an oxymoron.
e. "The fundamental right to marry does not include a right to make a State change its definition of marriage. And a State's decision to maintain the meaning of marriage that has persisted in every culture throughout human history can hardly be called irrational." (John Roberts, Dissenting Opinion on the Supreme Court Ruling on Gay Marriage, 6-26-2015)
iv. Libertarianism strongly advocates limited government.
a. Libertarians contend that the federal government at a maximum should only have authority in areas delegated to it in the Constitution.
b. Some libertarians are minarchists or anarchists who believe in less government yet, or no government at all.
c. Nowhere in the Constitution is the federal government given authority to grant marriage licenses or require states to do so.
d. Libertarians generally believe that at a maximum any government should only have power to protect life, liberty, and property.
e. Issuing a state marriage license does not protect liberty; it inhibits liberty.
f. License - 1. trans. To give (a person) permission to (do something). b. To permit (a thing) to be done; sometimes with dat. of the person. 3. To grant (a person) a license or authoritative permission to hold a certain status or to do certain things, e.g. to practice some trade or profession, to hold a curacy, to preach, to use armorial bearings, to keep a dog, to carry a gun, etc.
g. To give the State authority to issue "gay marriage" licenses is to give the State more power over the lives of people, not less.
h. Therefore, libertarians should oppose any marriage license, including regular ones.
v. If you subscribe to a political philosophy which supports "gay marriage", then you must deny that tenet of the philosophy, though you may hold to other tenets of it.
vi. Remember, you are a Christian first, and a libertarian, republican, democrat, etc., second.
B. Even if the State refuses to give marriage licenses to sodomites to marry each other, nothing is stopping them from putting rings on each other's fingers and saying they are married.
C. The issue is not marriage, but rather forcing people to except their abhorrent lifestyle and getting government tax breaks and other benefits.
i. "Since well before 1787, liberty has been understood as freedom from government action, not entitlement to government benefits." (Clarence Thomas, Dissenting Opinion on the Supreme Court Ruling on Gay Marriage, 6-26-2015)
ii. "Petitioners cannot claim, under the most plausible definition of "liberty," that they have been imprisoned or physically restrained by the States for participating in same-sex relationships. To the contrary, they have been able to cohabitate [*115] and raise their children in peace. They have been able to hold civil marriage ceremonies in States that recognize same-sex marriages and private religious ceremonies in all States. They have been able to travel freely around the country, making their homes where they please. Far from being incarcerated or physically restrained, petitioners have been left alone to order their lives as they see fit.
"Nor, under the broader definition, can they claim that the States have restricted their ability to go about their daily lives as they would be able to absent governmental restrictions. Petitioners do not ask this Court to order the States to stop restricting their ability to enter same-sex relationships, to engage in intimate behavior, to make vows to their partners in public ceremonies, to engage in religious wedding ceremonies, to hold themselves out as married, or to raise children. The States have imposed no such restrictions. Nor have the States prevented petitioners from approximating a number of incidents of marriage through private legal means, such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
"Instead, the States have refused to grant them governmental entitlements. Petitioners claim [*116] that as a matter of "liberty," they are entitled to access privileges and benefits that exist solely because of the government. They want, for example, to receive the State's imprimatur on their marriages--on state issued marriage licenses, death certificates, or other official forms. And they want to receive various monetary benefits, including reduced inheritance taxes upon the death of a spouse, compensation if a spouse dies as a result of a work-related injury, or loss of consortium damages in tort suits. But receiving governmental recognition and benefits has nothing to do with any understanding of "liberty" that the Framers would have recognized." (Clarence Thomas, Dissenting Opinion on the Supreme Court Ruling on Gay Marriage, 6-26-2015)
