Cremation has been growing in popularity over the last few decades and many Christians are wondering whether or not cremation is permissible for them. Some take a hard line against the practice because of its pagan origin and lack of Biblical example and say that Christians shouldn't do it, while others say that since there is no law against it in the Bible, nor any commandment to dispose of the dead by burial only, that it is therefore a matter of Christian liberty. As always, our question should be, "what saith the scripture?" (Rom 4:3).

In our society, we see crosses everywhere -- on church buildings, on the walls of homes, hanging around necks, and imprinted on rings, just to name a few. Most Christians just take it for granted that the cross is a Christian symbol which is used to symbolize Christianity and to identify the followers of Christ. But is that really the case, or should that be the case?

A simple thought just dawned on me this morning concerning eternal salvation. There are two, and only two, spiritual states of men in this life: spiritual death and spiritual life. At any given time, all men are either spiritually dead or spiritually alive. There is no transitional state between death and life; one is either dead or alive...mind-blowing, I know. According to the scripture, spiritual life is eternal life; therefore, a person is either spiritually dead, or in possession of eternal life.

Lucifer was the greatest and most beautiful angel which God created. He was "the anointed cherub that covereth" (Eze 28:14). It was said of him, "thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty" (Eze 28:12), and "thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created" (Eze 28:15). And then something happened to Lucifer: he was perfect "till iniquity was found in thee" (Eze 28:15). His sin was one that we all have a tendency to fall into: pride.

It has been well said, "It's not where you've been, but where you're going that matters." Many Christians suffer with a lot of baggage in their past. Some were mentally or physically abused as children; some were rejected by parents, siblings, or friends in their youth; some have haunting memories of the sins of youth and adulthood. These haunting memories and experiences often shape our personalities and we identify ourselves by what we were in the past.

Today I want to give you a peek into the life of a pastor. This is not to preach myself (2Co 4:5), nor to get pity or sympathy, but rather to help you to "know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord" (1Th 5:12). Solomon wrote in Proverbs 18:1 that, "Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom." That is the life of a minister of Jesus Christ in a nutshell.

` "God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. 2) That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations." (Psa 67:1-2)

We Have Rejected God - By: Pastor Chad Wagner We have rejected God's omnipotence; now we have a powerful Police State. We have rejected God as our king; now we have an emperor. We have rejected God's dominion and kingdom; now we have an empire. We have rejected God's omnipresence; now we have a surveillance state with cameras everywhere. We have rejected God's omniscience; now we have the NSA and government databases which know everything about us. We have rejected the Great Physician; now we have Obama Care. We have rejected God's provision; now we have a Welfare State.

In a day when people live by maxims like "He who dies with the most toys wins" and "You only get to go around once", the title of this blog is likely anathema. We live in a society in which both heathens and Christians are given to covetousness and put the highest priority on stuff. I hate to break it to you, but the old saying "You can't take it with you" is not just an old saying, it's a divine saying, "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out" (1Ti 6:7). So important is this concept that God decided to repeat Himself two more times.

When a tragedy happens in our lives (a loved one dies, a baby is born with a disease, we lose a job, etc.) we often ask, "Why did this happen to me?" or "Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?".

"And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: 17) Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. 18) When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her." (Ruth 1:16-18)

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing." (1Co 13:1-3)

"But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away." (1Co 7:29-31)

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? - that is the age-old question. For Bible believers the answer to this philosophical perplexity is simple: the chicken came first, because God created the birds (Gen 1:20) before He told them to multiply in the earth (Gen 1:22), which requires laying eggs. Let's see if there can be a spiritual parallel drawn from this chicken and egg illustration?

After Gideon and his little army of 300 men had watched the LORD deliver the army of the Midianites into their hands by causing them to turn on themselves and kill each other (Jdg 7:22), Gideon and his men went after Zebah and Zalmunna, the two kings of Midian, faint, yet pursuing them (Jdg 8:4).
